New opportunities are exciting, especially when they come as a result of your hard work over a long period of time. In the space between closing a difficult project, and taking on a new one, there is a unique sort of clarity, where you can exhale, take a pause, and feel proud of all that you’ve accomplished, while also feeling inspired to take the next step. You’ve put in the work, and now, you’re able to enjoy the moment; to shine in the spotlight.
Feedback. Constructive criticism. Whatever you call it, it’s vital to continued growth and improvement. While nobody enjoys hearing about their weaknesses, or perceived flaws, feedback is truly a gift, because it allows you to examine your work from an outside perspective. It can shed light into blindspots and unearth vital elements that would have otherwise gone unseen, and therefore, unimproved.
The habits and mindset that you adopt early in your career will be key in setting yourself up for success. Here are some tips to help new graduates get started on the right foot!
Have you ever had a gut feeling that was so strong, that it could not be ignored? What was the result of listening to your intuition? If you ignored it, did it matter? I’ve found that for my career, leveraging my intuition has made all the difference in leading me down a satisfying career path.
Can you believe it? We’re already in the middle of January 2021. Not only are we back to work, and school, but the pace has picking up and we’re back into our regular routine. It’s time to think about goals. Specifically, those annual career goals that will be used to evaluate your performance this year. So what would you like to achieve this year?
